Sharon Johnson is a native of Duval County, residing in Jacksonville since 1973. She graduated from Florida State University’s College of Law in 1992 after receiving her Bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from the University of North Florida. First prosecuting with the State’s Attorney Office for the Fourth Circuit, in Jacksonville, she then entered private practice, focusing on family law and criminal defense.

In 1996 Sharon started her own firm and has practiced solely in the areas of family and marital law for the last 16 years. Her major areas of practice are divorce, child custody, and paternity. She is a Qualified Florida Parenting Coordinator and is also certified as a Family Mediator, serving clients with and without legal representation.

Sharon is often called on as an adviser to Jacksonville media outlets due to her knowledge in aspects of family law. Here is an appearance Sharon has made on a local news station to discuss recent alimony changes in Florida:

Sharon serves as Treasurer on the Executive Committee of the Florida Family Law Inn of Court, where she is a Master of the Inn. She also serves as President on the Board of the Family Nurturing Center of Florida, which provides supervised time sharing and monitored exchanges for families in crisis. She is a member of the Florida Bar, the Jacksonville Bar, and the Florida Bar Family Law Section. Sharon and her husband Gary share three wonderful children and two West Highland Terriers. When she is not litigating, negotiating or mediating family law cases, Sharon and her husband enjoy traveling, snow skiing and beach life.
